DESCRIPTION:Running daily January 17th – March 22nd\, Norfolk Botanical Garden’s Third Annual Diversity Gallery\, in partnership with Norfolk’s Barry Art Museum\, showcases art from underrepresented communities in Hampton Roads. This community initiative was launched by NBG’s President’s Council on Inclusion and Diversity and is displayed in Baker Hall Visitor Center. \n Diversity Gallery Artist Reception:  \n February 28th 11am to 2pm in the Baker Hall Visitor Center and in the EDU hallway. Find all six Cherry Blossom Scavenger Hunt Trees labeled with the dark pink flower. Look under each of these trees and make note of the corresponding letter. Once you’ve completed the word\, stop by our Front Desk in Baker Hall Visitor Center to receive a prize while supplies last!  \nPhysical Scavenger Hunt maps are available at our Baker Hall Visitor Center. \n Please note: cherry blossom bloom season varies from year to year. SUMMARY:Educator Workshop: Project Learning Tree
DESCRIPTION:Join us in the WOW Children’s Garden to complete the Project Learning Tree requirements for the  Explore Your Environment  K-8 Activity Guide. Attendants will receive a copy of the activity guide and earn five (5) credits and a certificate toward their professional licensure renewal. \n Check-In:  8:30AM \n Event:  9AM-3PM \n Lunch Break:  12-12:30PM. \nRegistration:  $15/Educator.   \n For more information on Project Learning Tree\, visit  plt.org . \n Registration Information:  \n To ensure we have the correct name and contact information for each participant\, each attending educator is required to register their own ticket.  Do not register tickets for other attending guests.  \n Once you complete your registration through NBG\, an additional digital registration will be sent out for completion for the Department of Forestry. This will register you to receive your PLT workbook at the training.  \n Additional guests and tag-alongs are not permitted. \n This is an in-person training. Virtual participation is not available. \n Participating educators should plan to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Portions of the workshop take place outside. \n The workshop is recommended for all K-12 professional educators\, homeschool educators\, and college students pursuing licensure. \n Coffee and snacks will be provided. Attending educators are required to bring their own lunch. DESCRIPTION:Join NBG Youth Education staff for our new and improved Junior Master Gardener (JMG) program! JMG is an innovative 4-H gardening program for children and families. JMG engages children and their chaperones in “hands-on” group and individual learning experiences that promote a love of gardening\, develop an appreciation for the environment\, and cultivate the mind. Recommended for children ages 3-6 with significant chaperone assistance.  All attending adults and children are required to have a registered ticket. \n REGISTRATION INFORMATION: \n All participating children must have a paid\, pre-registered ticket to attend the program. \n Adults must have a registered ticket\, including all free Member adult tickets. \n Dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable walking shoes are recommended. \n Tickets must be pre-registered. Walk-up tickets may not be available. \n Program tickets include Garden admission. \n Chaperones are responsible for behavior of their attending child. \n Price for NBG Members: $12/Child. (Adult members may attend for free with a registered child). \n Price for Not-yet Members: $20/Child and $20/Adult.
